5 ways to sharpen your self-discipline
- Pay attention to the areas in which you already have good self-discipline.
What are you doing right in those areas?
- Work with a partner and hold each other accountable.
- Focus on the benefits of being disciplined, rather than the "pain."
- Don't make exceptions -- not even once. Exceptions lead to ruin (for example, when
quitting smoking, one cigarette can wipe out months of progress).
- Start small and build up. If you want to start getting up 1 hour earlier, get up 10 minutes
earlier for a few days, then gradually build up to an hour.
