15 ways to procrastinate less & get more done
- Remember: Progress, not perfection.
- Do the worst 1st (get the hardest part done now!).
- Focus on the benefits of getting it done.
- Make it fun!
- Just get started for 15 minutes.
- Figure out exactly what you don't like -- then make that part better/easier.
- Do an imperfect job on purpose, then go back and make it better later.
- Work with a partner - it will give you more structure & accountability.
- Get the proper tools -- software, forms, etc.
- Learn how to do it if you're not sure.
- Change your attitude about it.
- Make it into a race: Check the time on the clock, then race yourself to get the task
done by a certain exact time.
- Don't giftwrap the garbage -- not everything has to be done perfectly! -- just do it!
- Delegate it -- or hire someone to do it. Or trade unpleasant tasks with someone else.
- Reward yourself when it's done!
